Damper Design and Fabrication Services

PDS Solutions has extensive experience in the OEM utility boiler and industrial market place. PDS Solutions designs dampers and has complete manufacturing services available for them too. We want you to buy lots of them because they are the best.

Types Of Dampers

Applications

Design Features

  1. Dampers can be built to your specification, custom fit to your ductwork needs.
  2. All Dampers have a 90 degree travel rotation.
  3. Large dampers use a Solid Lube Bearing /No Maintenance.
  4. Shaft can be supplied with seal air connection for dirty gas or air media.
  5. Internal linkages are used to eliminate differential expansion between shafts to provide better control. Limited use of linkage for smoother operation.
  6. Temperatures up to 850 degrees.
  7. Damper shafts and blades are carbon steel, but can be designed with stainless steel or other corrosion resistant materials.
  8. Damper shafts can be plain or keyed to suit the damper drive.

Design Benefits

  1. Internal Linkage - eliminates the differential expansion between blades.
  2. External Bearings - less maintenance problems, keeps bearings outside of the airflow.
  3. Internal Shaft Supports - less maintenance and less seal air required in most applications.
  4. Composite Blade Design - allows for longer blade lengths and fewer blades per damper.
  5. Integration with Duct & Flue Design - by integrating the damper design with duct and flue design, PDS can offer better quality control and field fit. Internal blade clearances are checked and verified to external clearances, stiffeners, insulation, expansion joints and support steel.

Damper Drives & Controls

PDS can provide direct mounted drives for the dampers or PDS will develop damper drive arrangements to locate drives in accessible areas. PDS's experienced personnel will assist in determining the best drive manufacturer and mounting location for each specific application. Drives will be properly matched for associated flues, ducts, and fans while providing for easy drive access for field maintenance and accessibility.
